Student Matters is an ICEF-accredited international education agency (ICEF Accredited Agency #5531) helping students apply to universities in Ireland, UK, Australia, Canada, Germany and the USA.
What we collect
- Identity and contact: name, email, phone / WhatsApp number
- Study preferences: destination, course level, intake month, city of residence
- Education notes you choose to share (transcript summary, English test status)
- Service requests: flight details, airport / housing preferences submitted via forms
- Technical data: IP address, browser type and essential cookies for site function
Why we use your data
- Respond to enquiries and provide counselling
- Process university or visa applications with your consent
- Send service updates you request (airport pickup, accommodation, insurance, etc.)
- Send newsletter updates — only if you subscribe
- Improve our website and prevent abuse
Legal bases (where GDPR applies): contract or pre-contract steps, consent, and legitimate interests in running a study-abroad consultancy.
Retention
Lead and application records are kept for as long as needed to advise you and meet legal or audit requirements — typically up to 7 years for education case files — then deleted or anonymised.

Depending on your location you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your data, and withdraw consent at any time.

Security and children
We use reasonable technical measures to protect data. Our services are aimed at adults (18+) and guardians arranging study for under-18 students. Parents or guardians should submit forms on behalf of minor children.
